Living in a Material World

Everyone knows that it’s the little things in life that matter. A note from a friend, a compliment from a stranger… a hug. And sometimes it’s stumbling upon a thoughtful little shop with the perfect something for our jewelry box.

Lucky us, we happened upon Little Things, a nook of a shop brimming with a bevy of local crafts. Freshly opened in November, the cozy space is filled with color and fun. We swooned over the tough and feminine leather-and-lace bracelets by Jar’d Leather, and a laundry line of Sock it to Me socks—the perfect “Portland” stocking stuffers. Unique bib necklaces from Panoplia look straight off of the runway, and bags from Konrady are made from locally-sourced fabrics, fetching appliqués, and little charms in unexpected places. Proprietress Andrea Angell is super knowledgeable, and can direct you to loads of things just right for gift-giving (or keeping).

Okay, so usually “the little things” aren’t things. Regardless, things make us happy. And the shopping, admiring, trying on, and selecting of little things is delightful too.
